Mansfield Woodhouse war memorial was unveiled and dedicated on Sunday 3rd June 1923, the service began at 2:30 pm.
It stands 12 and a half feet tall, is made of Cornish Granite and weighs approximately 2 tonnes. The original blue prints still exist and so does correspondence between the stone mason and Mansfield Woodhouse Urban District Council.
The memorial cost £633 in total, this figure includes the 3 large bronze panels which are on 3 sides of the memorial. The smaller panel was added later in 1923 as relatives informed the Council that names had been missed of. There are 8 names on this extra panel.
The memorial was funded solely by the people of Mansfield Woodhouse through public subscriptions. Many business and companies in the area donated considerably towards the cost of the memorial Those who lived in Forest Town, however did not contribute to the cost of the memorial as they would be erecting their own.
